Students from Suceava were awarded by police for their help in catching a thief who attacked an elderly woman.

The Suceava County Police Inspectorate announced that six students aged between 13 and 17 years were awarded for their demonstrated civic spirit after they helped catch a 33-year-old man who had robbed an 80-year-old woman. The incident took place on a street in the municipality of Suceava, where the aggressor snatched the victim's bag, causing her to fall.

The young witnesses acted promptly, chasing the robber and assisting in the recovery of the bag. After the aggressor hid in a stairwell, the students alerted the police, providing the necessary descriptions for his identification. The perpetrator was caught on the platform at Burdujeni Station and detained for robbery. The award ceremonies took place at the students' educational institutions, highlighting the importance of civic engagement.
