The General Council approved the allocation of 32 million lei for the severance pay of STB employees who will be laid off, estimating that between 700 and 800 people will be affected. The general mayor, Ciprian Ciucu, assured that drivers and conductors will not be laid off, but only auxiliary staff. Although the collective labor contract provides for up to 20 average gross salaries as compensation, STB will offer only four average gross salaries, which could lead to litigation.

The director of STB, Andrei Bighea, mentioned that the allocated amount is limited to avoid pressure on the budget. The recovery plan also includes a 30% reduction in management positions and a 50% reduction in directors, as well as a temporary reduction in activity for 4,540 employees to four working days per week. These measures are intended to generate significant savings for the company.
