The authorities in Bacau have declared a state of alert in 65 localities in the county due to the lack of sanitation services.

The authorities in Bacău County declared a state of alert on Saturday in 65 towns and communes, including the municipalities of Oneşti, Moineşti, and the town of Dărmăneşti, due to the interruption of sanitation services. The Bacău County Emergency Situations Committee (CJSU) made this decision for a period of 30 days, starting from May 2 until June 1, as a result of an emergency situation generated by the failure of the public utility.

The main reason for this situation is the expiration of the contract with the sanitation operator, and the authorities have not organized a tender to appoint a new operator. This lack of sanitation services severely affects hygiene conditions in the targeted localities, which prompted the intervention of the authorities.
