The Red Intervention Plan was activated on Tuesday in Bacău County after 36 children aged between 6 and 14 from the locality of Căiuți reported feeling unwell and experiencing symptoms indicative of possible food poisoning.
Twenty of the children went to the Emergency Admissions Unit of Onești Municipal Hospital, while another 16 were assessed at the dispensary in Căiuți commune. An Advanced Medical Post was set up there for triage and medical assessment.
According to Bacău ISU, calls to 112 continue to be received and analyzed, and the response will be adapted depending on how the situation develops. Authorities are investigating a possible food poisoning outbreak.
Crews from Bacău ISU and the County Ambulance Service are taking part in the operation, including five SMURD ambulances, two vehicles for transporting multiple casualties, and six County Ambulance Service crews. To increase response capacity, Vrancea ISU sent a vehicle for transporting multiple casualties and a minibus. The advanced medical unit will remain operational throughout the assessments.
