Minister Ciprian Șerban announced that the design phase for the Focșani-Brăila Express Road will begin on December 2. This road will have a length of 73.5 kilometers and will connect the Moldova Highway A7 with the Danube Bridge at Brăila, as well as with the Brăila-Galați Express Road, facilitating connections to Tulcea and Constanța.
The project will be financed from non-reimbursable European funds and from the state budget, having a total implementation duration of 42 months, of which 6 months for design and 36 months for execution, with a possible completion in 2028. The route plans to include 57 bridges and viaducts, six road junctions, short-term parking, and a service area. The contract for the construction of this road was recently signed with a consortium of builders, and the infrastructure will support the economic development of the eastern region of Romania, improving the transport of goods and passengers.
