The works on the Zimbor – Poarta Sălajului section of the A3 Highway have reached a physical completion stage of approximately 90%, according to Cristian Pistol's announcement. The contractor Spedition UMB has mobilized 622 workers and 180 machines, and asphalt has already been laid on 10 km of the 12.24 km section. Teams are currently working on structures, earthworks, and consolidation works.
Additionally, the contractor is working on the Românani Node, where the work progress is at 20%, with 100 workers and 50 machines. The completion of this node will allow traffic to open on the Zimbor – Poarta Sălajului section in the first part of next year. In 2026, after the completion of works on the viaducts on the Nădășelu – Mihăești subsection, traffic will be possible between Poarta Sălajului and Târgu Mureș over a distance of 145 km. The contracts for these works, valued at 905 million lei (excluding VAT), are financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
