A Sri Lankan citizen has been placed under house arrest for 30 days, being accused of attempted murder and attempted aggravated murder, after he attacked four compatriots with a knife in a hotel in Brăila.
The incident occurred on November 15, when the assailant, a chef, cut one victim's throat, causing injuries that require 10-12 days of medical care. Shortly after, he attacked three other people, all of whom were Sri Lankan citizens. It appears that the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack. Initially detained, he was later placed under house arrest, with the court rejecting the prosecutors' proposal for preventive detention.
