At a meeting of the PSD organization in Hunedoara, Sorin Grindeanu stated that at the party's Congress he will invite former presidents, such as Adrian Năstase and Mircea Geoană, to contribute to the reunification of the PSD. He emphasized the importance of bringing back into the party those who have had contributions, whether positive or negative, to build a solid future. Grindeanu identified three main directions for the PSD: the reunification of the party, a return to traditional values, and the revitalization of internal activity.

Regarding ideology, Grindeanu proposed amending the party's statute to abandon the label of "progressive party" and return to Christian and traditional values, stating that the PSD must be a party close to social democracy. He also highlighted the need to reactivate the National Council of the PSD to generate effective public policies and prepare human resources for leadership positions. Grindeanu concluded that the strength of the party must return to a close connection with the Romanian people, which has been essential to the success of the PSD in the past.
