Sorin Grindeanu, at the exit from the consultations with Nicușor Dan: Continuation of the current coalition, but without Bolojan

The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, announced on Wednesday, after the consultations with president Nicușor Dan, that one of the proposed solutions for overcoming the crisis is the continuation of the coalition, but without Ilie Bolojan as prime minister.

“We have stated the solutions we see as viable. We mentioned one of the solutions, the continuation of the pro-European coalition, but with another prime minister. If no harmonization is reached, PSD may go into opposition,” said Sorin Grindeanu.

On the other hand, the social-democratic leader said that “the international commitments that Romania has made, regardless of who the prime minister is” will be supported. “The developments in the coming days will be ones that we will all see. This consultation process is welcome. The conclusions will be announced by Nicușor Dan,” Grindeanu added.

The consultation program at Cotroceni for resolving the crisis

The PNL delegation is set to enter now the consultations with president Nicușor Dan. The delegation consists of the party president, Ilie Bolojan, the general secretary Dan Motreanu, and the first vice-presidents Cătălin Predoiu, Nicoleta Pauliuc, Ciprian Ciucu, and Adrian Veștea, according to information provided by the liberals.

In the second part of the day, UDMR will discuss at 15:00, and the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities at 16:30, concluding with USR at 18:30.

The consultations at Cotroceni take place after PSD announced on Monday the withdrawal of political support for Ilie Bolojan, giving the prime minister a deadline of 'two or three days' to resign, otherwise they will submit a motion of censure.

In response, Bolojan stated that he will not resign, emphasizing that the country's problems cannot be solved by changing just one person.
