Located at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level, the Sinaia ski area was closed due to the blizzard, which caused the cable transport installations to stop. The wind speed exceeded the safety limit, affecting the operation of the Sinaia Gondola, the Cableway section 1 and other installations. This meant that tourists spending their holidays in the mountains of Sinaia were unable to ski on Christmas Day.
