The construction of the Moldova Highway is advancing rapidly, with the estimate that by the end of November, 13.9 kilometers between Bucharest and Focșani will be opened to traffic, facilitating uninterrupted circulation. The value of the contract for this section is 1.093 billion lei, financed through the PNRR. Recently, traffic was opened on 28 kilometers of section 2 (Mizil-Pietroasele), bringing Romania to a total of 132 kilometers of highway opened out of 319 km planned.
In the Focșani area, work on the overpass over A7 in Garoafa has begun, and on the Focșani-Domnești Târg lot, the work stage has reached 80%, with the estimate of opening traffic by the end of the year. UMB is also working on the Focșani-Bacău section, where the work stage exceeds 80%. If the pace is maintained, traffic on the highway from Bucharest to Pașcani could be possible in 2026. On the Răcăciuni-Adjud lot, work is ongoing, and the authorities estimate the opening of traffic to Adjud by the end of the year. These advances are part of an ambitious infrastructure project funded by European funds.
