Embezzlement file at Neamț County Hospital, after police found medical devices worth over 200,000 lei in the doctors' lockers.

The police have opened a criminal case for embezzlement after a control conducted at the Orthopedics Department of the Piatra-Neamț County Emergency Hospital discovered devices and medical materials in the lockers of several doctors, with an estimated value between 200,000 and 400,000 lei.

The control was requested by the unit's manager, Alexandru Patrașcu, who notified the authorities after discovering implants and specialized kits stored in unauthorized spaces.

According to the hospital management, investigators seized 13 bags of orthopedic devices and materials from the lockers of three doctors in the department and another orthopedist who was on duty at the hospital. Two of the doctors currently under investigation are also being investigated in another criminal case for bribery.
