Severe hydrological phenomena and extreme turbidity of the water in the Paltinu reservoir have led to the temporary suspension of water supply in eight localities in Prahova, including Câmpina, Breaza, and Poiana Câmpina. The National Administration 'Apele Române' has declared the situation 'critical', caused by sudden increases in flow rates and high turbidity, under the Orange Code. Teams from Apele Române and Hidroelectrica are working to change the filters at the Paltinu Dam, essential for resuming controlled water discharge. Although the plant has been restarted with a flow rate of approximately 2 m³/s, turbidity monitoring continues. The Prahova Prefecture coordinates the interventions, and Hidro Prahova distributes drinking water from alternative sources. The resumption of water supply could take place at least 72 hours after the cessation of precipitation, depending on the reduction of turbidity. Apele Române recommends that county authorities declare a state of emergency to facilitate the controlled distribution of water.
