The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, declared on Saturday that the situation in the Danube Delta is very serious, following an inspection carried out by the Control Body at the Administration of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve. During a press conference, Buzoianu emphasized that the report will be sent to the National Integrity Agency, considering the signs of conflict of interest identified, but also to the National Anti-Corruption Directorate.
The minister described the situation as being "on the brink of disaster," mentioning that the tools that should have ensured compliance with the law have been diverted to serve the interests of certain groups. Buzoianu also pointed out significant losses of European funds and the blocking of important projects, stating that some of them have even been sabotaged. This alarming situation raises serious questions regarding the management of resources in the Danube Delta.
