A serious road accident occurred in the municipality of Târgoviște, on Găești Road, after a car driven by a 51-year-old man collided with a cart. As a result of the impact, five people, two adults and three children aged between 3 and 15 years, were injured and transported to the hospital for medical care. The horse pulling the cart suffered severe injuries and was subsequently euthanized. Tests conducted by the police showed that the driver of the car had a concentration of 0.58 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air, while the driver of the cart recorded a value of 0.10 mg/l. The accident occurred around 11:50 PM on the night of June 19, and the authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the event. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital for biological sample collection. The case brings attention back to the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and the serious consequences such behaviors can have on all road users.
