Cristian Pistol, the general director of the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR), stated that section 4 (Tigveni - Curtea de Argeș) of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway could be opened to traffic approximately six months earlier than the contractual deadline set for February 2027. Pistol mentioned that if the current work pace continues, traffic on this section of approximately 54 km out of a total of 122 km could be possible as early as this year.

The value of the contract for the construction works is 1.678 billion lei, with funding provided through the Transport Program 2021-2027. On the 9.86 km site, the Austrian contractor PORR is mobilizing 435 workers and 150 machines, carrying out works for laying topsoil, ballast foundations, as well as works on bridges, overpasses, and tunnels. Additionally, CNAIR staff is being prepared for the monitoring and maintenance of the Momaia tunnel, which will benefit from modern safety systems.
