Massive raids in several counties and in Bucharest, in a fraud case involving masks and disinfectant during the pandemic.

The police from Călărași carried out a large operation, implementing 32 search warrants in a criminal case regarding tax evasion and other economic crimes. The action, coordinated by the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crime, targets several commercial companies that allegedly created a fictitious transactional circuit, overestimating the prices of medical products, such as protective masks and disinfectants, by more than 10 times the actual price. The estimated damage caused to the state budget amounts to 4 million lei, while the total value of the investigated transactions exceeds 30 million lei. As part of the operation, 19 individuals and legal entities are being investigated, and law enforcement agencies are receiving support from investigative structures from several counties.
