In Constanța, the General Prosecutor's Office conducted searches at prosecutors Gigi Valentin Ștefan and Teodor Niță, according to Digi24.ro sources. Gigi Valentin Ștefan, 54 years old and retired, held leadership positions within the county prosecutor's office and was involved in controversies related to illegal restitutions, including in the case of lands received from the group of former mayor Radu Mazăre.

Teodor Niță, an active prosecutor, is known for handling complex cases related to environmental crimes and organized crime. His name was associated with a tragic incident in 2022, when his son committed suicide with his service weapon. Additionally, in 2025, he was targeted by a criminal complaint for abuse of office related to the management of a criminal case.
