The scandal began when Mihail Neamțu (AUR) criticized the leadership of the Ministry of Culture by a UDMR minister, being accused of fascism by the UDMR deputy. USR deputy Alexandru Dimitriu called Neamțu an "infect propagandist, Putinist" and a "grotesque extremist," accusing him of disrespect towards women. Neamțu replied that he has never insulted a woman and attacked the competence of the USR Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu. The dispute continued with mutual accusations and personal attacks, highlighting the tensions between the two parties.
