The Save the Children organization reacted to the draft law that could intimidate donors to NGOs, similar to the model in Hungary, emphasizing that this measure will not improve fiscal transparency, which already exists. Instead, the organization believes that the law will discourage funding, intimidate donors, and stigmatize NGOs, burdening them with disproportionate administrative tasks.

Save the Children refers to the experience of Hungary, where similar legislation was declared incompatible with European standards regarding the protection of civil society and freedom of association. This law imposed discriminatory and unjustified restrictions, contrary to the obligations of member states regarding the movement of capital, respect for privacy, protection of personal data, and freedom of association. The organization calls for a reassessment of this legislative initiative to protect the fundamental rights of NGOs.
