Sanda Tăranu, one of the most representative personalities of Romanian Television, passed away on Friday, May 29, at the age of 87. Born on January 8, 1939, in Bucharest, she initially studied chemistry but decided to attend the Institute of Theatrical and Cinematographic Arts, graduating in 1963. She began collaborating with Romanian Television during her student years, quickly becoming a respected presenter.
She hosted cultural programs and was associated with famous festivals, such as 'Cerbul de Aur', as well as the show 'Teleenciclopedia', which marked generations. After retiring from in front of the cameras in 1998, she continued to collaborate with TVR as a narrator and producer. In recent years, Sanda Tăranu preferred a reclusive life, spending her time between Bucharest and her home in Breaza, being perceived as a symbol of elegance and good taste in Romanian television.
