After Cristela, another woman close to Călin Georgescu was summoned to DIICOT for questioning

Ryana Popescu, a former OTV journalist and close associate of Călin Georgescu, was summoned as a witness at DIICOT in the €1.1 million fraud case concerning the former presidential candidate.

Popescu’s name appears in the prosecutors’ report, in the context of discussions regarding the recovery of the money claimed by businessman Răzvan Leu. According to the available information, she has the status of a witness, not a suspect.

Popescu worked at OTV television, founded by Dan Diaconescu, and later became active online. In February 2025, she told Antena 3 CNN that she had helped Georgescu prepare his speeches, but denied writing his texts. Her company, Lala Media Production, appeared on the materials for an event supporting Georgescu organized in December 2024.

The former journalist also drew attention through a poem recited on TikTok, entitled “Călin the Voivode,” in which Georgescu is portrayed as a Dacian prince who arrived in a spacecraft. The case is still being investigated by DIICOT prosecutors.
