Ionuț Moșteanu, the Minister of National Defense, stated that Romania has faced a new challenge from Russia, after a Russian drone entered Romanian airspace. The drone was tracked by four Eurofighter planes with German pilots and F16 aircraft, which had permission to shoot it down. However, the pilots chose not to fire, to avoid collateral damage. The drone was found in Vaslui County, without any explosive payload, and the pilots are to be consulted to clarify the reasons for their decision. The Ministry of Defense also detected drones that entered national airspace in Tulcea and Galați counties.
