Russian forces launched, on the night from Monday to Tuesday, a new series of drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania, in the Tulcea County area. Following the escalation of the security situation, the Romanian authorities activated rapid intervention procedures, including the takeoff of F-16 aircraft to monitor the air situation.
At 01:55, a RO-Alert message was issued to inform the population in the northern part of Tulcea County about the risks generated by the attacks.
Fragments of drones were reported to have fallen on Romanian territory, in the area of the locality of Plauru.
The Ministry of National Defense informed NATO structures about the situation created by the Russian attacks and maintains contact with allied partners.
Ground checks will continue throughout the morning to assess the impact.
