On Monday night, the Russians attacked Ukrainian ports on the Danube again, causing explosions in the area of the port of Izmail. Fragments from a drone fell on Romanian territory, near the locality of Grindu, Tulcea, just 5 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Unfavorable weather conditions, including rain and dense fog, hindered the takeoff of fighter planes for surveillance. Authorities issued a Ro-Alert message for residents in northern Tulcea County after several drones were detected on radar. One drone crashed near a sheepfold, and soldiers searched the area and collected the debris for analysis. Foreign Minister Oana Ţoiu condemned these actions as part of Russian aggression and announced that Romania, the EU, and the USA are preparing new sanctions to respond to these provocations. Since the beginning of the conflict, there have been over 60 drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and ports, and 40 drones have fallen on Romanian territory, mostly in the counties of Tulcea, Galați, and Brăila.
