On the night from Monday to Tuesday, Russia launched new airstrikes on Ukrainian ports along the Danube, according to information provided by the Ministry of National Defense (MApN). The Romanian army has begun an investigation after possible drone fragments were discovered near the border with Ukraine.
MApN radars detected groups of drones in the area adjacent to the national airspace, which led to the activation of air defense systems. Due to unfavorable weather conditions in the southeast of the country, aircraft from the Air Police combat service were unable to take off. At 00:07, a RO-alert message was issued for the population in the northern part of Tulcea County. MApN reported a large number of explosions on the Ukrainian side of the Danube, especially in the Izmail port area. At 01:09, the impact of an aerial vehicle was reported in the Grindu area, 5 km south of the border, and military teams found drone fragments, securing the area for further investigations.
