A draft law adopted by the Senate provides for a 40 euro/day food allowance for Romanian hauliers.

The draft was initiated by the Liberals and also proposes to increase the non-taxable ceiling for certain allowances received by transporters. The initiators of the bill underline the negative impact on the transport sector of the postponement of Romania's accession to the Schengen area.
