The Romanian government has launched a major project to develop integrated social assistance services in some 2,000 rural communities, with an estimated budget of over €816 million. The aim is to improve the quality of life of vulnerable people by providing social support, education, health care and psychological counseling. The Minister of Labor, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, underlined the importance of this project in increasing the number of professionals in the field and supporting social inclusion. The National Gala of Excellence in Social Work also celebrated the achievements of the profession, highlighting the significant contributions of social workers.
