Romanian farmers, gathered at the APPR Forum, recently participated in protests organized in Brussels, expressing their dissatisfaction with the EU-Mercosur Agreement. They are asking President Nicușor Dan not to support this project, which is contested by some European agricultural producers.

The criticisms focus on the fact that the Agreement would open the European market to products from South America, which could negatively affect local agriculture. Romanian farmers want to protect their interests and the agricultural sector in Romania against external competition.
