The Romanian Academy condemns the acts of which Alfred Bulai is accused, but does not withdraw the 'Constantin Rădulescu Motru' prize he won in 2019.

The institution awaits the final court decision in the case of the sociologist accused of sexual assault. Although it considers his actions reprehensible, the Romanian Academy has not yet taken the decision to withdraw the prize he won in 2019. Alfred Bulai was remanded in custody on charges of sexually assaulting female students.
