The Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday that the Romanian team won four medals at the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) 2026, held in Cesenatico, Italy, from May 12 to 18. Romania obtained three silver medals, won by Laura Moldovan, Iulia-Ela Morariu, and Alexandra-Iulia Guiman, and a bronze medal by Ilinca-Rucsandra Radu.
251 competitors from 68 countries participated in the competition, including 28 from other continents, which turned the event into a true international olympiad for girls. The Romanian team was supported by specialists from the Society for Excellence and Performance in Informatics (SEPI), who contributed to the preparation and coordination of the participants. The Ministry of Education congratulated all participants for their remarkable achievements.
