The Border Police announces the activation of the Entry/Exit System (EES) in Romania starting from October 12, 2025, initially at the points of Midia, Stanca, Naidasi, Sighet, and Sibiu Airport. EES will monitor the entries and exits of NON-EU citizens, collecting biometric data such as fingerprints and facial images. During the transition period, passports will be manually stamped, but later, checks will be automated, reducing waiting time at the border. Data will be stored for 3 years, in compliance with European legislation.
