Oana Ţoiu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced the approval of Romania's plan for the SAFE Program, which allocates 16.68 billion euros for strategic investments in defense and dual-use infrastructure. This money, usually in the form of low-interest loans, will support the national defense industry, including protection systems and modern technology.

Ţoiu emphasized that the stakes are not just the acquisition of equipment, but also the investment in the local economy, generating jobs and contracts for Romanian companies. The SAFE Program will run until 2027 and Romania has obtained the second-largest allocation in the Union. Investments will also include dual-use infrastructure, essential for connecting regions, such as the A7 and A8 sections.
