The Ministry of National Defense has signed an agreement for the purchase of SHORAD-VSHORAD anti-aircraft systems worth 10.33 billion lei.

The framework agreement signed between the Ministry of National Defense and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems provides for the procurement of six SHORAD-VSHORAD anti-aircraft systems, a training and simulation system, and includes ammunition and logistical support. The total value of the purchase is 10.33 billion lei, and the first systems are expected to be delivered within 3 years. The program aims to equip the Romanian army with advanced technology for protection against aerial threats, being compatible with NATO standards. The agreement was approved by Parliament and will run for 7 years.
