Dragos Pîslaru, the Minister of Investments and European Projects, stated that Romania will lose 231 million euros from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) due to the non-fulfillment of milestone 215, which refers to the pensions of magistrates. The European Commission confirmed that this milestone has not been met, and Romania could not demonstrate that it enacted the necessary law by the deadline of November 28.

Pîslaru emphasized that the loss of these funds will affect the national budget, as the money will need to be covered from internal resources to comply with investment projects. He also mentioned that the reform of special pensions is essential for equity and good governance. So far, Romania has submitted several payment requests from the PNRR, but the non-fulfillment of this milestone will have direct consequences on future financing.
