Bogdan Ivan announces that the Ministry of Energy has sent the Government the project to declare a "state of crisis" in the fuel market, a measure that would allow for the limitation of exports and the prevention of artificial price increases.

The Minister of Energy announced on March 17 that his ministry has submitted a draft regulatory act to the Government, which would allow the declaration of a 'crisis situation' in the fuel sector. The project is currently under review, and a decision is expected after the budget is adopted in Parliament.

The measure would provide the state with tools for rapid interventions in case of market dysfunctions, including limiting fuel exports to protect domestic supply. Ivan explained that establishing a crisis situation would allow for the prevention of artificial price increases and ensure the necessary stocks for the domestic market.

The evolution of prices is influenced by the global situation, especially by the conflict in the Middle East, and Romania aims to limit their effects. The minister emphasized the consensus of the governing coalition regarding the need for intervention if the international situation deteriorates. The final decision will be announced by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance.
