Romania has achieved a new milestone from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), focused on the digital transformation of public institutions through the introduction of process automation technologies (RPA).
The interim Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, Irineu Darău, announced that the investment exceeds 17 million euros and aims to reduce bureaucracy and accelerate response times for citizens. So far, 124 automated processes have been implemented, and the goal is to reach 240. The project also includes the establishment of a Center of Excellence that will train specialists in the field.
Digitalization aims to streamline public services, reduce errors, and improve the experience of citizens. Darău emphasized that this initiative is not just about technology, but about respecting citizens' time.
