The Minister of Defense stated that the authorities in Bucharest possess technical evidence confirming that the drone shot down on Friday originates from Russia. In an intervention on B1 TV, Miruță commented on Moscow's reaction, which came after the summoning of the Russian ambassador and Romania's request for the expulsion of an employee of the Embassy of the Russian Federation. The minister emphasized that the statements of the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, are not supported by evidence, as Romania has expertise confirming the origin of the drone.
Miruță stated that there are no arguments in defense of the position of the Russian Federation and that Romania will continue to respond firmly to the illegal incursion of drones into national airspace. He concluded that the Romanian Army will intercept any drone that violates this airspace, reaffirming the country's commitment to protect its sovereignty.
