On Friday, a rock detached itself from a slope in the Defile of Jiului and fell onto the road, hitting a van with 9 people on board. Two were injured, one was taken to hospital. Traffic on DN 66, in the Bumbești-Jiu area, is blocked on one lane, and police advise caution. Firefighters and ISU Gorj intervened on the spot to manage the situation.
