On Wednesday, the residents of a staircase in an apartment building in Râmnicu Vâlcea were evacuated due to a strong smell of gas detected in the stairwell. The intervention of firefighters from Vâlcea County began after reports were received from residents. Upon arrival of the teams, the smell of gas was evident, which is why it was decided to stop the supply of natural gas and electricity to the building.

The firefighters evacuated the residents from the four apartments and began ventilating the staircase to eliminate any danger. Specialists took measurements in the basement and in the exterior area of the building to identify the source of the gas leak, and the intervention was ongoing at the time the news was reported.
