Nicușor Dan was booed loudly during his visit to Galați: "Resignation!"

President Nicușor Dan traveled to Galați on Friday to visit the woman and child injured in the explosion caused by a drone that hit an apartment building. During the press statements, Dan was met with boos and calls for his resignation from some people in the area. He announced that the investigation is ongoing, and initial assessments suggest the use of a conventional explosive, estimated at at least 30 kg. The president emphasized that the authorities are working on developing defense systems against drones, mentioning that the use of aircraft is not the most effective solution.

Nicușor Dan highlighted that the challenges posed by the drone war affect all European states and mentioned the shortage of specialized equipment. He also commented on the expulsion of the Russian consul, considering it an appropriate diplomatic response. The explosion in Galați has generated one of the most serious security crises for Romania since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
