The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, had a meeting with representatives of the builders of the Basarab Passage to discuss the necessary details for ensuring the safety of the construction. The works are planned to start in June and are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

The passage, put into use in 2011, has not been accepted, which has led to its degradation due to lack of maintenance. The technical expertise conducted in 2023 highlighted existing problems, and the interventions will be coordinated between the builder and the Bucharest City Hall.

The builder will carry out the technical project, and the costs and supervision will be determined later. The necessary permits could be obtained in May, and the works could be completed by December 2026.
