The Bucharest City Hall has announced the start of the consolidation, rehabilitation, and modernization works of the Bulandra Theatre Building, one of the architectural jewels of the Capital, classified in seismic risk class I. The total investment amounts to 98.6 million lei, with 90% of the funds coming from the Ministry of Development, through the National Program for the Consolidation of Buildings with High Seismic Risk.
The works, which will last 36 months, include structural consolidation, restoration of architectural elements, modernization of installations, thermal insulation, waterproofing, partial demolitions, and replacement of joinery.
The building, located at 1 Schitu Magureanu Street, houses the 'Lucia Sturdza Bulandra' Municipal Theatre and is 100 years old.
The City Hall mentions that the Municipal Administration for the Consolidation of Buildings with Seismic Risk is working on 14 residential and public buildings.
