The Capital Police conducted four home searches in Bucharest on Wednesday morning, as part of two criminal cases targeting public incitement and the promotion of extremist ideologies online. One of the suspects is Cezar Cătălin Avrămuță, known as 'The Dacian Flagbearer', who posted a video on Facebook featuring a Nazi salute associated with a modified image of Mihai Eminescu.
The action was coordinated by the Criminal Investigation Service, with the support of the Special Operations Service, and targets acts such as the use of fascist symbols and the distribution of antisemitic materials. The first case, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office next to the Sector 1 Court, involves three suspects for the use of fascist symbols, while the second, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office next to the Sector 6 Court, targets a man for public incitement and the distribution of antisemitic messages.
The searches were conducted to gather evidence, and the individuals targeted will be further questioned. The police emphasize that these actions are part of the criminal process and do not affect the principle of presumption of innocence.
