The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, stated that Romania is not facing security risks in the context of the conflict in the Middle East, especially following the tensions in Iran. He emphasized that, although there are no immediate threats, the Ministry of Defense maintains a heightened state of vigilance and conducts detailed analyses three times a day to monitor the situation.

Miruță explained that, although concerns about an Iranian attack on Romania are discussed, there is no evidence to support such a hypothesis. Romania provides logistical support to the United States but is not involved in hostilities. Regarding possible post-conflict involvement, Miruță mentioned that Romania could contribute in various ways, having specialized military capabilities. He also emphasized Romania's commitment to respecting international partnerships, despite warnings from Iran, which has threatened that the use of the Romanian military base by the U.S. would equate to participation in military aggression against it.
