Radu Marinescu, the Minister of Justice, announced Cristina Chiriac's nomination for the position of Attorney General of Romania, highlighting her extensive professional experience and remarkable legal training. Marinescu emphasized Cristina Chiriac's managerial skills, demonstrated through her leadership roles at the DNA and through the projects presented. She has shown the ability to utilize modern tools in criminal prosecution and to promote a strategic approach in combating corruption.

The Minister mentioned the importance of knowledge management and direct communication, as well as Cristina Chiriac's concern for ensuring the operational independence of prosecutors, considered essential for the rule of law. Additionally, Marinescu highlighted the active role of the institution in legislative debates and the promotion of an organizational culture based on ethics and integrity. In the competition for the position of Attorney General, Bogdan-Ciprian Pîrlog also ran, and Marius Voineag was proposed for the position of Deputy Attorney General.
