Ion Duvac, a doctor in psychology and a member of the Ethics and Discipline Commission of the College of Psychologists, is accused of sexually harassing patients, including during the first session, through explicit proposals, intrusive questions about their sexual life, and requests for pictures of their genitals, according to a full recording obtained by PressOne.
In a discussion with a patient, after a few minutes, he diagnoses her with borderline personality disorder, reduces her issue to sexuality, and recommends the so-called "Ion method" – engaging in sexual relationships with 5-6 men as "treatment" for depression.
From the beginning of the session, he made comments like "goodness in hell" and suggested to the client that she should have a "quality" sexual life to improve her emotional state.
Other women – former patients, employees, or individuals heard in the commission in a sexual abuse case – report the same pattern of harassment and minimization of abuse, one of the complaints being later resolved by a final decision that found the sexual abuse by a psychotherapist. In response to the editorial office, Duvac does not respond substantively but tries to obtain a postponement of the publication on the grounds that he does not want to "end his career" this way, while his CV shows an influential profile: former SIE officer, trainer, entrepreneur in psychology, and member of several specialty committees of the College of Psychologists.
