Victor Negrescu, MEP from PSD, emphasizes that the new governmental formula must be based on a clear mandate, focused on the country's priorities and on a functional dialogue mechanism. He believes that the future prime minister should have economic training and experience in managing European funds or in international organizations, having a good professional reputation and a culture of dialogue. Negrescu categorically excluded any scenario of collaboration between PSD and the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), characterizing AUR as an extremist party with anti-democratic tendencies.
He criticized pro-European parties for their occasional collaborations with AUR, highlighting the need for a clear distinction between democratic forces and extremist ones. Negrescu warns that the lack of an agreement among pro-democratic forces could deepen the chasm between citizens and the political class, thus affecting the well-being of Romanians.
