Social Democrats emphasize that their ministers' initial proposals included reductions in excise duties, especially for diesel used in agriculture. The PSD claims that such a measure would have a minimal impact on the state budget, due to the increase in VAT collections, and would reduce pressure on companies in the fuel sector.

In the context of the crisis in the oil market, the Ministry of Energy has put up for public debate a draft emergency ordinance that limits the commercial markup on petroleum products.

The National Trade Union Bloc has requested the rescheduling of the National Tripartite Council, accusing a lack of transparency in the convening.
