The employees of the Arms Factory in Cugir protested Wednesday morning in front of the headquarters, dissatisfied that they have not received any salary increase compared to the previous year.

The union leader, Ioan Neagu, stated that the workers, many of whom have the minimum wage, are demanding a salary increase of 6.5%, an increase in the value of meal vouchers, and the granting of vacation vouchers. In the absence of an agreement, production activities could be affected. Neagu emphasized that the minimum wage does not reflect the true value of the work performed, and young people are not attracted to the defense industry due to low incomes. He called on the state to intervene to ensure decent wages, mentioning that Romania produces quality weapons but does not benefit from proper promotion.

The protest highlights the urgent need to improve working conditions and remuneration in the defense sector.
